Celebrating Mom Is Different For Everyone

For me, it's somewhat awkward

Growing up, I had the perfect image of a mother-and-daughter relationship. Sitting in the park one day, I observed girls my age interacting with their moms — holding hands, hugging, laughing, and enjoying each other's company seemed effortless.

I didn't share that bond with my mom.

Yet, I never doubted my mother's love for me.

Years later, I realized my mom couldn't show me the love I desired as she was naïve to its formula.

She couldn't reciprocate what she didn't experience herself.

So, with less expectation. I committed to changing the generational trajectory by fostering the relationship I needed with my son.

Create the relationships you need in your world.
